Composite bonding is a process used
to improve the cosmetic appearance of your teeth. Composite
bonding can be used to repair cracked, chipped or discolored
teeth, hiding discoloration on the tooth's surface, or reducing
gaps between the teeth.
The composite bonding can be a plastic
or resin material. Until recently dentists have filled cavities
with silver and mercury amalgams. Unfortunately, these restorations
often weaken teeth due to the larger amount of original tooth that
has to be removed to support the filling. Composite fillings require
less tooth removal, are mercury free,
tooth colored and utilize adhesion dentistry.
Using materials that match the shade, translucency and texture
of your teeth, spots, chips, and discolorations can
be eliminated and filings never seen!
So next time you smile no one will ever
know you've had a filling placed!
